I spent some time in my photo studio this afternoon. I had Carley and Chad come for a maternity photo session. Carley was one of the bridesmaids from a wedding I shot last summer and it was great to see her again. I had a great time and I hope you like the photographs.

Here are a couple of photographs from two assignements that I did today for AirdrieLIFE magazine. Don Doal (left photo) is 87 years old and plays darts. He hopes to qualify for the 55+ Summer games this summer. Matt Fraleigh (right photo) is a leasing manager from First Capital, I photographed him at their new Dixon Trail retail complex.

This Saturday I was asked to photograph for Mount Royal College and also for AirdrieLIFE magazine. I spent my evening shooting hockey, Mount Royal College Cougars played against SAIT's Trojans. Hockey is not my favorite sport to photograph because I get cold being so close to the ice for so long; but I still had a good time. I used AlienBees strobe lights and PocketWizards for all of these shots.

In the morning I spent some time photographing an arm wrestling tournament hosted by the CLAWS of Airdrie Arm Wrestling Club. I had to take some photographs of local champions Darrell Belyk and James Bowen.

Yesterday I was hired to photograph a couple of volleyball games for Mount Royal College Cougars, who played against Red Deer College Kings and Queens. I had an awesome time and tried to be creative with my shots. I tried using slow shutter speed on some of the shots and tried more unusual angles. I used AlienBees strobe lights and some PocketWizards for all of these shots. Here are some of my favorite shots, I hope you like them :)

I'm getting ready to photograph a couple of volleyball games but I thought I would post some shots that I just did for AirdrieLIFE magazine. This family runs a business where they all go out every Friday and do curbside pick-up for about 75 customers in Airdrie. I will talk to Tracy and who knows, maybe we can be one of their customers as well.

I was pretty busy today driving around and looking for some new furniture for my photo studio. I think I finally found some stuff so my studio will get a nice upgrade. I also took some photographs of my good friend Alex Iron, who is a great real estate agent and also a photographer.

I had to do some portrait work for the AirdrieLIFE magazine this morning. It is hard to come up with something creative when you have a very limited time and you need to take a portrait in a very small room without anything in it.

Tomorrow we are leaving Sandos Caracol here in Mexico and going home to Calgary. We had a great vacation but I'm excited to go home! Today we spent our day at Xcaret park. If you are on your way to Mexico, I strongly recommend to visit Xcaret! They have a great aquarium and many birds and animals but the greatest part for me was snorkeling!

I was snorkeling for about 3 hours straight and got super tired diving and chasing fish around and trying to take some good photographs with my point and shoot camera with an underwater case. I think I would need to be diving and not snorkeling if I will want to take any decent shots in the future.

In the evening they had a great show! The show pretty much took us though the history of Mexico. Tracy and I already saw this show a couple of years ago but it was great to see it again!

Here you can see a photo of me, taking a walk along the beach as I did every day so far. This evening I took some photographs of pelicans and their life coexisting with tourists and local fishermen.

This morning we woke up early and right after breakfast took a taxi to Playa del Carmen, where we walked around and did some shopping. While we were there we noticed that there are many wireless Internet spots around so I will comeback and upload all this to the Internet tomorrow :)

At Playa del Carmen we boarded a ferry and took a 30 min boat trip to Cozumel, a pretty big Island off the coast of Mexico. There we stopped for lunch and spent the rest of the day walking around and swimming.

Another day in paradice! We spent today at the resort, not really doing anything speciall, just a little exploring here and there. I still wasn't able to get the Internet so I'm just doing updates on my laptop and hoping that I will be able to upload sometime soon.

It is very beautiful here at night so I decided to go around and take some night photographs of the resort with all the nice lights. I don't have my tripod with me but I think it still worked out pretty good.
