I had a whole day planed with a big road trip to take some landscape photograps. Unfortunately I didn't make it very far, at my first stop, Elbow River Waterfalls, I slipped and fell into the river. I got pretty wet and had to cut the trip short.

Mount Royal College held the ACAC Women's Basketball Championships where Lethbridge Kodiaks defeated the #1 ranked, Mount Royal Cougars, 67-59. This is their second gold medal in 4 years.

Mount Royal Cougars began their playoffs semifinals with a win over Edmonton Ooks 3-1.

Took some portraits of Tracy this morning.

Well, long weekend is finally here! I didn't have anything booked so my friend Greg and I decided to visit Banff National park. I thought it would be sunny but instead it was snowing all day so I didn't take many landscape photographs, on an other hand I finally had a chance to take some dogsled photos.

Tonight I decided to try mounting a remote camera to the backboard for some basketball action. The window was very dirty and the board didn't have many good points to mount my camera. I had to settle for what you see on one of the shots above. I didn't get many photographs, players didn't jump as high as I was hoping and I got way too many reflections in my photographs.

I was going though some of my archived photographs and came across this photo of me when I was a kid, you can see I didn't change much :) My father took this photograph, and photos like this one is the reason I have a camera now. I still remember how excited I was to develop some film with my dad in a dark room.

I have been sick for a pretty long time so I didn't get out much. This weekend I finally was able to go to the Zoo. It was very cold but my friend Greg and I took some nice photographs and had a good time, it was great to be able to take some animal shots again.

Had a photo shoot in my studio with Robin today.

This weekend I was photographing Bowness High school's 28th annual Trojan Classic basketball tournament. I think I got some very nice shots and I am very happy with the results. The school probably had the loudest fans from any high school that I have been to so far, they showed great support for their team!

Today I had a very interesting assignment. I was hired by the Calgary Zoo to take some shots of elephants. They wanted to have front and rear shots of the male elephant. The photographs would be used for a kiosk in the new Elephant Crossing building. They wanted to have life size prints that would look good up-close. They didn't really care about the background because they will cut the elephant and paste it to a different background, but they did care about them being able to print it life size, about 12ft. I had to rent a camera with a higher resolution for this and hopefully they got what they asked for and it would be interesting to see it when its all done.

My friends and I took a day trip to Edmonton today. We visited Edmonton Zoo and spent some time at the mall. The Zoo was much smaller than Calgary Zoo but I was happy with the opportunity to photograph some new animals.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I have been busy all this time and didn't have any time to update my blog. For the last week I was working as a photographer at Mac's AAA Midget Hockey Tournament. It was my biggest tournament so far and it was a great experience for me.
