Tracy and I got married 8 years ago on February 29th... Well, yesterday was our 2nd official wedding anniversary. I wanted to do something more special so we packed for a surprise weekend trip.

After we got properly caffeinated we headed to the mountains :)

Stopped in Banff to stretch our legs and to get something to eat.

I visited Lake Louise many times, I photographed weddings, engagements here, corporate and sporting events, but over the years I never actually stayed at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise... Well today is the day, we are staying at the Chateau for this little trip :)

Tracy and I talked about trying snowshoeing on multiple occasions and I thought this would be a great place to finally try it. So after renting some snow shoes we went for a hike on a frozen lake :) We had a blast! I would totally recommend it to anyone, snowshoeing is underrated. We had Oliver in a carrier on our back and as soon as I started to carry him, he fell asleep and had a nice nap :)

Hotel found out that we are here for our wedding anniversary and we had a nice surprise bottle of wine in our room for us when we got back :)

The next morning we woke up to see some fresh snow :)

I love this hotel, service here is awesome. Little toothpastes in the change room, nice touch :)

Before heading home, we decided to go for a nice horse sleigh ride by the lake :)

One last stop in Canmore to get some food and we are almost home :)
