I was processing photographs from the tournament that I just did, when I received a phone call and was asked to photograph Career Directions 2008 at SAIT. I grabbed my camera gear and spent an evening working. Here are a few of my favorites.

I'm back! It has been a while since I posted anything here. This weekend was the busiest weekend of the year for me and I am very tired. I photographed "Ring of Fire" ringette tournament here in Airdrie. It was a big tournament with 32 teams from all over the place with age range from bunnies to adults. I took many great photos and here are a few of them for you to see.

Just before the tournament on Thursday I photographed 2008 President's Reception at SAIT. It was a great big event with exotic music, Polynesian inspired dancers, and gourmet tropical cuisine. During this event I fell and smashed my camera on the ground. I was able to still take photographs and everything looks good but my filter shattered and I couldn't take it off. I will give it a try today using some pliers or something and hopefully its just the filter that is broken.

The Art Show was a great success! I would like to thank everyone who came, thank you to all friends and family who showed their support! I was very surprised with the amount of people that turned out and was really not expecting this many to come. The show had many interesting photographs and paintings and I was happy to be a part of it.

I just came back from a hockey game. Mount Royal Cougars played against SAIT's Trojans. They play back to back games this weekend and SAIT won their fist game 3-1. I will be at the Art Show tomorrow so if you will stop by don't be shy and say hi :)

November 4, 2008

I'm very excited! This Saturday I will have some of my photographs in an Art Show. I had 8 of my landscape and animal photographs printed and stretched on a canvas for this show. As always Prints Charming did a great job stretching my photographs on a canvas and they look amazing! I will be happy if you would be able to come and check it out :) You can find the address on the poster below, hope to see you there.

I just came home from Mount Royal College where I photographed a couple of volleyball games. Cougars played Queens and Kings from Red Deer College. I had fun and took many great photographs. Here are some of my favorites.

October 31, 2008

Happy Halloween everyone!!! I had to work today and didn't get to give out candy but I'm sure Tracy did a great job without me. Mount Royal Cougars were playing U of C Dinos. It was all University of Calgary and they ended up with an easy win.

October 30, 2008

I thought I would take some animal photographs this morning. I spent less than an hour at the Zoo because when I arrived there I realized that I forgot my monopod, so I only visited Canadian animals section. I didn't take any good photographs today but I decided to post a couple of them for you to see anyway.

Getting ready for the winter. I just went and picked up some winter tires and wheels. It is +16C outside right now so I just stored them in the garage for now and will put them on later. Its good to know that I have them when I will need them.

Here are some shots from today's games. Another home opener for the Cougars, this time basketball. Mount Royal Cougars played against Medicine Hat Rattlers. Cougars won both of their games and I ended up with some great photographs!

October 25, 2008

Here are some shots from yesterday's volleyball games. Mount Royal Cougars had their home season opener games against Medicine Hat Rattlers. Tonight I will photograph Cougars basketball home opener games.

October 24, 2008

I had a quick photo shoot for SAIT this morning. I spent some time in Calgary with Dean from "Dean Cole Design" and here are some of my favorite shots. I'm now off to a couple of meetings and than have a couple of volleyball games to photograph this evening.

October 22, 2008

I have been mostly processing photographs for the last couple of days. I saw a beautiful sunset developing outside, so I grabbed my camera and drove for 5 minutes away from our house and took a couple of shots.

October 19, 2008

My friend Greg and I took a little road trip today. We drove to visit Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump interpretive center. It wasn't the most exciting thing to see but it was still interesting. After spending some time there we drove to Waterton Lakes National Park.

We arrived to the park pretty late, right after the sunset, so we didn't take many photos but I was able to get a couple of photos that I liked.

October 18, 2008

I just came home from my first hockey game of this season. My main camera is still in repairs so I had to use my backup, Canon 1D Mark II. It took me about 5 or 10 minutes to get used to it but its still a great camera! Tonight Mount Royal Cougars played against MacEwan Griffins. Cougars won 3-2 and it was an entertaining game. Griffins team had a girl for a goalie and she was fantastic, she made 45 or so saves and was a player of the game for the Griffins.

October 17, 2008

Yesterday was my birthday. We celebrated by having some friends and family over at our house. Thank you very much everyone who was able to make it! It was great to see all of you! This is a cool present from Tracy. She bought me a Ping Pong Table! How cool is that!

October 12, 2008

Once again its after 12 in the morning and I just came home from a wedding. I had two weddings in the last two days so I'm very tired. I had a great time and the photographs turned out very good! This wedding was in Calgary downtown, so once I got there I didn't have to drive at all so that was great. I'm off to sleep for a very long time :) Enjoy the photographs!

October 10, 2008

One wedding is over and I'm recharging my camera batteries for a second wedding that I have to photograph tomorrow. It is very late and I just came home but I thought I would take some time and post some photographs from today. Hope you like them!

October 9, 2008

I just came back from a wedding rehearsal that I will be photographing this Saturday at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Cathedral is very big but the ceremony will be small so they will only be using a small portion of the Cathedral. The room that will be used is very very dark, I had to use ISO 6400 and even than I was getting some motion blur. I guess we'll see on Saturday.
I have a pretty busy weekend ahead of me, I have a couple of weddings in a row starting tomorrow, wish me luck :)

October 9, 2008

Well yesterday I photographed a couple of soccer games at Mount Royal College. Cougars played SAIT's Trojans. As soon as I arrived to the soccer pitch I realized that I forgot my monopod. I shoot with Canon 400mm f/2.8L IS lens and Canon 1D Mark III. Anyone who ever shot with it knows that its not a light thing to hand hold, and especially for 4 hours straight. These were late games, the first game started at 6 pm, but it was nice to have some evening light for a change and not have to deal with a bright sun.

By the time the men's game started, I was pretty much frozen. It was only +1C and I had to sit on the ground because I couldn't stand and hold my camera for so long and sitting gave me at least some opportunities to put the camera down on the ground once in a while. Well at least it didn't snow! Men's game was an interesting game to watch but it wasn't very exciting to photograph for me. SAIT won 5-0 and because I photograph for Mount Royal I was always on the opposite side of the soccer pitch, but non the less I ended up with some nice photographs.
